I was copying env files between machines by hand. My own words for it were that it is fragile and insecure. This week the harness reads those keys from a vault, setup and update sign in and fill the tool config, and the log shows counts and missing names. It does not print a value.
The old setup script, the one with the keys typed into it, stayed on disk and stayed out of git, and I did not convert it. It is still the wrong file. The rest of that story is its own entry. I am not telling it here.
Two review passes on the sync change. The pull request was still open at the end of the week.
