We Didn't Discover Coding When We Discovered AI.

Twenty-five years of enterprise architecture. Thousands of production deployments. And now, the most powerful tools the industry has ever seen. The difference is what you bring to the keyboard.

The Long Road to Better Tools

The Foundation (Late 1990s - Early 2000s)

When Daren started writing code, the gatekeepers were in full force. Senior developers would give you grief for using an IDE instead of Notepad. That foundation matters — learning to build systems the hard way teaches you something no tool can replace.

“We didn't enjoy the gatekeeping. But we're grateful for the foundation.”

The Tools Evolved (2000s - 2010s)

Visual Studio became indispensable. Then .NET Framework. Then jQuery, MVC, Entity Framework, cloud platforms. Each wave had its skeptics — and each proved the same point: better tools don't make you a worse developer. They let a good developer move faster.

AI Enters (2024 - Present)

Now we're in the AI wave — and it's moving fast. Over half of all developers use AI coding tools daily. Claude Code scores 80.9% on SWE-bench with 16 parallel agents. Cursor has a million users. The MCP ecosystem exploded from 1,000 to 10,000+ servers in a single year. Some developers dismiss these tools as "vibe coding." We evaluate each on its merits — Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Codex, MCP servers, PTCs — and today 62 custom AI skills run in our production workflows daily, backed by 4 custom MCP servers, 5 PTC CLIs, and 179 automated code reviews. The result: 24 hours per week reclaimed and $155K in annual capacity freed.

“AI without Domain Knowledge is just fancy autocomplete. AI WITH that foundation is transformative.”

Where We're Going

The AI market hit $2.52 trillion in 2026, but 78% of organizations that adopted AI still aren't seeing meaningful ROI. The gap isn't technology — it's the absence of domain expertise behind the prompts. Data & Business Solutions, LLC was founded to close that gap. We're building product platforms — SaaS tools powered by the same AI-augmented workflows we use internally — and consulting for organizations that need more than a chatbot demo. The mission hasn't changed in twenty-five years: build robust, maintainable, business-critical systems. The tools just got dramatically better.

The Builder Behind the Brand

Daren Bruncak

Founder & Principal Engineer, Data & Business Solutions, LLC

Daren Bruncak has been building enterprise software since the late 1990s. His longest engagement — seventeen years with a single enterprise client — spans the full lifecycle of a B2B platform: web-to-print storefronts, USPS postal optimization, payment processing, and fulfillment orchestration serving enterprise clients including Marriott, Best Western, United Rentals, and dozens more.

In 2024, Daren invested heavily in AI-native development — not as a pivot, but as a natural extension of a career spent adopting every tool that proved its worth. Today he operates with Claude Code (62 custom skills), production MCP servers, and a Programmatic Tool Calling architecture that reduces API costs by up to 99%. In an industry where inference costs are dropping 10x per year and the MCP ecosystem has grown to 10,000+ servers, he builds at the frontier while keeping both feet on enterprise-grade foundations.

What We Stand On

Rooted

We build on foundations, not trends. Twenty-five years of enterprise development is the root system that feeds everything we do.

Relentlessly Practical

We don't build what's impressive. We build what works. Every technology decision is driven by one question: does this make the system more reliable for the client?

Transparent by Default

No black boxes. We document architecture decisions, explain trade-offs in plain language, and give clients full visibility into how their systems work.

Growth Through Craft

Every project makes us better. We extract patterns, build reusable tools, and invest the lessons back into our practice.

The Infrastructure We've Built

We don't just use AI tools — we build the infrastructure that makes them production-ready.
